Director of the Mid-Cities club since its inception in 1984.
A
resident of Bedford, Mary is a member of the Texas SCRABBLE®
Hall of Fame and was national Director of the Year in 2000. In addition to being club director, Mary also plays in and
directs tournaments both locally and nationally. |

Dee Segrest,
Co-Director. Dee lives in Grand Prairie and is a charter member of
the Mid-Cities club. Dee has retired from the City of Dallas Parks
Department and directs and plays in tournaments. She was Texas State
Champion in 1996 and is a member of the Texas SCRABBLE®
Hall of Fame. |

Rana Afeiche - Rana
was born in Beirut, Lebanon and is a school psychologist. She enjoys
(other than SCRABBLE® of course),
reading, cooking, creative writing, power-walking and traveling. Her
favorite movie is Forest Gump, and her favorite author is John
Grisham. She joined the Bedford club in 2006. |

Mike Chitwood - Mike started a
club in North Dallas which he handed over to Bryan Pepper when Mike
moved to Tyler temporarily. He has placed first in Division 2 of 10
tournaments, including two Texas State Championship tournaments. |

Karen lives in Grand Prairie and joined the Bedford club in
2006. |

Carl Davis - Carl
lives in Fort Worth and Atlanta with his wife Mo and works for Delta Air Lines
as an aircraft mechanic. He has placed 1st in Division 2 in many
tournaments and also placed 4th in Division 4 in the National SCRABBLE®
Championship in Providence, RI in 2000. |

Michelle (Mo) Davis
- Carl and Mo met at SCRABBLE® club and dated for
several years before taking the big step. Several Scrabble®
friends were privileged to attend their wedding, after which they
took a honeymoon which incorporated a tournament in Portland, OR. |

Sammy Dick-Onuoha -
Sammy, a native of Nigeria, lives in south Dallas. He works in a
dialysis center. He was an expert SCRABBLE®
player in
Nigeria and when he moved to Texas, joined our club. He was
accustomed to the combination (British and N. American) dictionary
and had to "unlearn" the British-only words. |

Mike Early - Mike
lives in south Fort Worth and plays in a number of tournaments
yearly. He is a musician and courier and contributes quarterly to
the Mid-Cities
SCRABBLE® Players Newsletter. Mike was
the 1994 Texas State Champion. |

E.B. Holschuh - E.B.
Holschuh is a retired Navy linguist and an English and Russian
teacher at Mansfield High School, where he sponsors a campus
SCRABBLE® club for students and faculty. He has been playing
SCRABBLE® competitively since the summer of 2003. E.B. lives in Arlington with his wife and two
daughters. |

David Isgitt -
David is a stay-at-home dad and trained musician with degrees
in trombone and music theory. He enjoys writing music in his
spare time. His ISC handle is mriz. He and his wife have been
married for 9 years and have a 3-1/2 year old son with another baby
on the way. |

Kyle Martin - Kyle
is a student at the University of Kansas majoring in Sport
Management. He started seriously playing Scrabble in the summer of
2006 and first came to the club in December 2006. Kyle plays often
online as well. His ISC handle is KMart4488. |

Pat Oppenlander -
Married to a retired Army officer, Pat & hubby have three
children & three grandchildren. Her favorite military assignment
was the two tours (7 years) they spent in Alaska. After retiring
from Sprint in 1998, most of her time was spent with her two moms,
who have since passed away. Pat is currently rediscovering
everything, from books to movies to (of course!) Scrabble. She also
likes sewing and gardening. |

Harold is originally from Barbados. He drives a school bus for the
city of Dallas. |

Bryan Pepper - Bryan
lives in Bedford and works for Lab Corp in Dallas as a fleet manager.
He plays in and directs tournaments both locally and nationally.
Bryan directs a club in North Dallas weekly. |

Dave Rubin - Dave
was born in Norwich, Connecticut in 1948 and grew up and was
attended school in Lancaster, Texas. He attended UTA with a B.A. in
history. He has worked as an outside service representative for Lab
Corp of America since 1979. He started playing club
SCRABBLE® in 1996. |

Cecelia Smith - Cecelia,
originally from Seattle, came to us via Washington D.C. where she studied
for her Masters in Cognitive Linguistics at Gallaudet
University. By day, she is a project assistant for a
construction firm and by night she is a Sign Language Interpreter at
a local community college, which is why she is only able to make
rare appearances at the club. She enjoys playing SCRABBLE®
at
the "fun level" and doesn't see herself in a tournament
any time soon, but really enjoys the atmosphere of the monthly club. |

Linda Villarreal -
Linda, a resident of Bedford, was so excited when she was shown an
article about a Bedford tournament, that she called Mary and
exclaimed that she would be happy to pay $10 a week just for a
chance to play! Fortunately, it costs her much less than that. Linda
works for Capitol One. |
